Water Slides – Concept & Design Development

We deliver a full project cycle for water slides for waterparks, hotels and resorts, as well as municipal pools. The formation of the launch platforms and the overall water slide block begins with a comprehensive analysis of site conditions and project performance goals. We do not use standard templates — each project is developed individually for the specific facility.

Key steps in developing an effective water slide cluster

• Collection of baseline site data – footprint dimensions, terrain levels, existing and planned structures, utility networks, and operational mode (seasonal/year-round).

• Analysis of target audience and use scenarios – share of families, children, teens and thrill seekers; expected visit structure by time of day and seasons.

• Competitive environment analysis – comparison with local and regional competitors; identification of niche opportunities and differentiation (slide routing, racing formats, theming, family solutions, etc.).

• Functional program definition – determination of slide types, quantity of launch platforms and difficulty levels. Balancing extreme, speed, family and kids zones based on target audience and required throughput.

• Flow modeling and launch platform layout – circulation paths, queue organization, placement of slides and launches (height, orientation, number of lanes, lifeguard control points).

• Techno-economic assessment and financial effect – estimation of capital costs, projected revenue and impact of the slide cluster on total facility ROI and payback period.

• Concept & design development – confirmation of slide routes and platform configuration, preparation of layouts, technical schemes and 3D visualizations.

Water Slide Classification: Technical Description & Guest Experience

Kids Slides, Mini Slides

• Reduced height, gentle slope, controlled velocities

• Geometry optimized for short trajectories and soft splashdown

User experience: Kids slides provide a child’s first contact with water attractions: safe, bright, intuitive routes. Short start, immediate glide, soft landing — children gain confidence quickly and can repeat the slide dozens of times regardless of age.

Body Slide, Aquatube – Open & Closed Slides

• Continuous single-person descent without additional equipment

• Straight, curved or spiral sections; open, enclosed or combined configurations

• Stable hydraulic flow with controlled speed

• RTM composite components with standard radii for a wide velocity range

• May include lighting, visual and transparent effects

User experience: Body slides are the classic water slide. Smooth speeds, comfortable curves and full water contact create intuitive, repeatable and enjoyable rides suitable for all guest groups.

Multi Slide, Mat Racer, Double Hill Racer – Competition Slides

• Parallel lanes launching 2–12 riders simultaneously

• Riding format: body or mat (foam sled)

• Straight, wave-form and occasionally enclosed segments

• Equal riding conditions on each lane

• Among the highest throughput of all slide types

User experience: Competition slides transform the descent into a race. Riders launch together, compare speeds and push to win. They stimulate repeat rides, challenges and group engagement — creating memorable and highly social experiences.

Kamikaze, Rocket & Rocket Loop, Free-fall, Capsule Drop, Turbo – Speed & Extreme Slides

• Steep slopes with near-vertical sections

• Launch capsules may be used with trapdoor release

• Speeds approach upper safe operating limits (60–80 km/h)

• Short-duration accelerations and G-forces requiring precise geometry

User experience: Extreme slides deliver adrenaline. Sudden drops, instant acceleration, perceived free-fall and limited control build sharp but safe sensations — ideal for thrill seekers.

Family Slide, Rafting, Ufo Slide – Family Attractions

• Expanded flume width: 1.5 m to 4 m

• Format: 2–4 riders in a raft or boat

• Long-radius curves, gentle drops and wave-motion profiles

• May include whirlpools or mild rapids

• Highly versatile and compatible with large guest flow

User experience: Family slides create shared experiences — parents and children descend together, holding onto a raft and reacting to every turn. Collective emotion multiplies enjoyment and builds memories.

Manufacturing of Water Slides: RTM Composites + Galvanized Steel

Water slide sections are manufactured at our European facility using RTM (Resin Transfer Molding). Closed-mold pressure resin injection ensures:

• stable geometry and high strength of composite components

• smooth surface on both sides of the flume

• enhanced resistance to abrasion, UV and pool chemicals

• reduced internal stress and long service life

All supporting steel structures (towers, staircases, launch platforms, supports, railings) are produced at our plant and hot-dip galvanized, ensuring:

• high corrosion resistance in humid and chemically active environments

• uniform zinc coating for complex shapes

• extended lifespan with minimal maintenance

Waterslide Project Timeline

Start of Works
4 weeks
8 weeks
12 weeks
16 weeks
Concept Development1–2 weeks
step 1This stage includes site and audience analysis, selection of slide types, development of start platform layouts and slide routing, guest flow modeling, and efficiency assessment. The result is an optimized configuration of the future slide zone for further design and implementation.
Design and Manufacturing Specification2–3 weeks
step 2At this stage, detailed engineering documentation is developed and the manufacturing specification is prepared for the factory: slide geometry, steel structures and assembly layouts. The result is a complete document package for the production of fiberglass waterslide sections, load-bearing metal structures and start platforms.
Fiberglass Section and Steel Structure Manufacturing5–9 weeks
step 3Waterslide composite sections are produced using RTM technology with strict control of geometry, thickness and surface quality. Steel structures for towers, supports and platforms are fabricated at our manufacturing facility and hot-dip galvanized for corrosion protection.
Logistics and On-Site Assembly of Water Attractions4 – 6 weeks
step 4Finished fiberglass sections and steel structures are delivered to the site, undergo incoming inspection and identification. On site, towers and supports are erected, fiberglass slide sections are assembled, joints are sealed, and the system is connected to utility and engineering networks.
Attraction Inspection and Test Launch1 – 2 weeks
step 5A comprehensive inspection is performed, including verification of assembly quality, fasteners, slide joints, and load-bearing structures. Water supply systems are configured for the slides, and all safety and monitoring systems are calibrated. Trial runs are conducted with test riders of different weight categories, with full parameter logging. The attraction is commissioned following required inspections. Documentation and operating instructions are handed over to the Client.
Timelines may vary depending on the complexity and location of the project.Waterslides require a full cycle — from concept and design, through manufacturing, installation and test commissioning. Only strict compliance with technology, quality control and final testing ensures stable operation, long service life and a safe user experience.
