Olympic and sports swimming pools
Olympic and sports swimming pools in compliance with World Aquatics standards — from concept to the first swimmer
Olympic / Sports Pool Project — Implementation Stages
Vision, Business Model and Feasibility Study
We begin the project by defining the strategic purpose of the future sports or Olympic pool — as a training facility, competition venue, or multifunctional sports complex. We analyze World Aquatics (FINA) requirements, target audiences, operational modes and usage scenarios.
At this stage, a feasibility study is prepared, including CAPEX and OPEX calculations, allowing us to confirm project viability, assess long-term efficiency and eliminate critical risks at an early stage.
Concept Design and Preliminary Engineering
At this stage, we establish the functional and technical foundation of the future pool. The scope of the facility is defined: main and auxiliary pools, training and competition modes, areas for athletes, officials, spectators and staff. Operating scenarios, pool transformation logic, circulation flows and infrastructure requirements are developed.
In parallel, Water Engineering Co. specialists perform preliminary engineering: selecting the pool structure type, developing conceptual hydraulic, circulation and water treatment schemes, and defining ventilation, dehumidification and power supply concepts. Initial coordination of architectural and engineering solutions is carried out in compliance with World Aquatics standards and site-specific construction constraints.
Olympic / Sports Pool Design (BIM)
Our team develops a complete set of working documentation using BIM technologies, including the pool structure, pool technology, engineering systems, automation and sports equipment. All disciplines are coordinated within a single digital model, ensuring geometric precision, compliance with international standards and transparency of cost estimates. This stage provides a solid foundation for high-quality, controlled and predictable construction.
Equipment Manufacturing and Construction of an Olympic Pool
At this stage, the project moves from design solutions to physical implementation on site. Water Engineering Co. organizes the procurement and manufacturing of key pool equipment and components, including water treatment systems, pump groups, automation and sports equipment. In parallel, construction and installation works are carried out: site preparation, construction of foundations and the pool shell, formation of structures, technical rooms and engineering infrastructure.
Synchronization of equipment deliveries with the construction schedule minimizes downtime and risks, ensures precise compliance with design parameters and adherence to tolerances critical for sports and Olympic pools.
Equipment Installation, Integration and Commissioning
At this stage, the engineering and construction components are combined into a single fully operational system. We install water treatment, circulation, filtration, disinfection and water heating equipment, as well as sports and auxiliary systems, and connect engineering networks and automation systems. All systems are integrated with each other and with the facility’s centralized management systems.
After installation, commissioning is carried out, including hydraulic and functional testing, adjustment of operating modes, automation algorithms and safety systems, and stabilization of water and microclimate parameters. The stage concludes with staff training and test operation.
Commissioning of a Sports / Olympic Pool
Water Engineering Co. hands over the facility to the operator with a complete set of as-built documentation, operating manuals and maintenance regulations. We support the facility during the initial operation phase and assist in preparation for training activities and competitions. The pool is fully ready to welcome its first athletes and operate stably under design conditions.
